this is interval fitness.
INTERVAL TRAINING
Interval training is a type of training that involves a series of high intensity workouts interspersed with rest or relief periods.
The relief periods are known as rest intervals but rest intervals are not a part of the training.
Ever heard of "work hard, play hard".
I say: "Train hard, rest hard".
The rest interval is the time spent resting between sets that allow the muscle to recover.
INTERMITTENT FASTING
Eating using interval fasting involves LIMITING THE HOURS IN WHICH YOU CONSUME FOOD IN ADDITION TO A LONGER PERIOD OF NO EATING.
Fasting in Intervals is an eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating. It doesn't specify which foods you should eat but rather when you should eat them.
In this respect it's not a diet in the conventional sense but more accurately described as an eating pattern. however if you use the eating interval to eat unhealthy food then obviously this will not be beneficial.
